I am a retired high school teacher having spent 35 years in a public school social studies classroom in St. Marys, Ohio. The only "break" in my 35 years was from 1990-92 when my Palestinian-born wife Lydia and I and our two young sons went to Beit Jala in the Occupied Territories to serve as co-directors of Hope Secondary School. Since my retirement from teaching.
In 2011 Lydia and I led three small groups of people on tours of Palestine and Jordan with an emphasis on the current political situation. We have three married sons and last year joined the grandparents club with the arrival of a granddaughter.
