Michael George is a high school history teacher in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and is a member of the Mennonite Palestine Israel Network's "End the Gaza Siege" subcommittee and is MennoPIN's "Twinning with Gaza" Initiative Coordinator in the United States. This program seeks to connect congregations within Mennonite Church USA with churches, mosques, hospitals, schools, and non-profit organizations in Gaza. Michael is a Palestinian-American whose father, Elias, was born in Lydda, Palestine in 1942 and became a refugee during al-Nakba. His father grew up in Amman, Jordan before immigrating to the United States more than fifty years ago.
